COVERAGE

Liability

What is Liability coverage?
Liability pay for both Bodily Injury and Property Damage if you are at fault in an accident.

The person/people in the other vehicle (or your passengers who are not household members or insured on your policy), will receive up to specific limits on the policy. For example, under a policy with 30/60/25 limits, the injured person(s) will receive up to 30,000 per person for bodily injuries sustained in the accident, with a maximum of $60,000 total paid for all bodily injuries combined accident. The last number “25” (which means $25,000), represents the maximum amount the insurance company will pay for any property damage you cause.

Options are 30/60/25 (minimum allowed in Texas), 50/100/50, 100/300/100, 250/500/100 and 500/500/100.

Uninsured Motorist

What is Uninsured Motorist (UM) coverage?
Uninsured Motorist pays for YOUR medical bills in the event that you are injured in an accident where the OTHER DRIVER is at fault and they either have NO insurance, or not enough insurance to pay your damages.

There are four conditions that must be met before UM pays. These are:

1. The other driver must be at fault in the accident,

2. He must have hit your vehicle (not just run you off the road),

3. You must file a police report (either at the scene or going to the station), and

4. The other driver must be uninsured or under-insured (his insurance is not enough to cover your injuries and damages).

Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD) pays to repair YOUR vehicle if the four uninsured motorist conditions are met. Collision coverage also pays to repair your vehicle up to the actual cash value (ACV) of your vehicle. The difference between the two is that UMPD has an automatic $250 deductible, whereas the Collision deductible is higher. UMPD also provides Rental Reimbursement coverage.

Coverage For Your Car

What is Collision and Comprehensive Coverage?
Collision Coverage helps pay for damages to your car If you hit something like another vehicle or a fixed object like a guard rail, lamp post, or telephone poll.

Comprehensive Coverage (also called “Other Than Collision”), helps cover the losses to your car from things other than an accident, like theft, flood, hail, vandalism, riots, fire and animal collisions.

Medical Coverage

What is Medical Coverage?
There are two types of medical coverage:

Medical Payments (MP) and Personal Injury Protection (PIP)

MP coverage pays medical bills for any person injured in an accident while in your vehicle, regardless of fault. Available limits are $2,500, $5,000, $10,000 and $25,000.

PIP is similar to Medical Payments coverage, but it covers a wider range of costs. It can help pay for medical and rehabilitation expenses, work loss, funeral costs, and even replacement services. Available limits are $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000.
